Scrapbooking Ideas

The sky is the limit. Think outside the box. Activate your creative brain. Put some thoughts to it. Make the book your very own. Before you start your scrapbook, decide on your theme, color scheme, scrapbook size, and format.

The theme of the scrapbook is very important. There are so many reasons for creating a scrapbook. There is the baby book. New mothers who want to remember every moment of their child’s life might want to choose the scrapbook rather than the old-fashioned baby book. As soon as the new mother finds out she is pregnant, she should at least start to take pictures, keep mementos and start writing down her thoughts so that when she decides to begin the book, she will be ready. The baby scrapbook is probably the most popular scrapbook because everyone wants to remember every aspect of motherhood.

As the baby grows, so does the scrapbook. Many mothers like to do a book a year. By the time the child is eighteen, there would be stacks of scrapbook. Obviously, unless the mother isn’t very busy, yeah right, she should start Scrapbooking important milestones in the baby’s life.

A graduation scrapbook is another great idea. You would start with the first day of school until graduation. Include school pictures, report cards, drawings, pictures of friends, and any important events during the school year. Of course, you would want to include graduation so the gift may have to wait a few weeks after graduation to allow you to include everything. Be sure to ask all family members to create at least one page and to journal their thoughts about the graduate.

Another Scrapbooking idea is the Bride’s Book. This book should include the courtship, the engagement, and finally the wedding and honeymoon. This book will be a priceless memory the bride will cherish forever. You may even want to include a bridal shower when the guests can help with the book. At this time everyone can write their thoughts about the bride and groom. Be sure to include pictures of the groom so that he won’t feel left out and his mother won’t think you forgot him.

One very important type of scrapbook is the memory scrapbook. This book depicts the life of someone who has died but whose memory lives on forever. This book is especially precious for those in mourning. After a period of time for grieving, when you feel the time is right, you can begin the book. This experience can actually be therapeutic because going through pictures of happy times will help you to remember the good times.

Whatever the theme or idea, you can never go wrong with a scrapbook. Whether you make it for yourself or for someone special, creating a scrapbook is certainly a joy.
